FABCO ALL WHEELED DRIVE (AWD) NOW AVAILABLE FROM STERLING ON ACTERRA MODEL. Emeryville, CA: Fabco Automotive has entered into an agreement with Sterling under which Fabco steer drive axles and transfer cases will now be available as a factory invoiced option on the Sterling Acterra. In an announcement by Al Sunderland, President of Fabco, Sunderland said, “We are extremely pleased that Sterling has chosen Fabco for the Acterra AWD program. Our staff worked extensively with the Sterling to bring this program together in such a way that Sterling can now provide its customers this Sterling installed option. By offering the Acterra with the AWD option, Sterling has eliminated the extensive and costly chassis modifications normally associated with after-market installations which will provide Sterling with a significant competitive advantage.” Fabco Automotive offers a wide variety of drive train components for severe service off-highway vehicles including transfer cases, steerable drive axles, hub-reduction planetary axles and split shaft PTO’s for both on-highway and off-highway medium and heavy-duty vehicles. The Sterling
Acterra 4X4 is available with either an automatic or manual transmission
and may be ordered with a variety of Fabco steer drive axles and transfer
cases to meet a customers needs for a specific application. In addition
to the Sterling Acterra, Fabco AWD components are available on a wide
variety of vehicles.
