Fabco Automotive Corporation Al Sunderland, President of Fabco Automotive Corporation, announced today that Fabco will acquire the manufacturing and marketing responsibilities for the Kelsey-Hayes Air Disc Brake and Gunite TM-21/TH-24 Air/Hydraulic Brake product line from Gunite. Gunite Corporation, a business unit of TTI, Inc. has manufactured and marketed Kelsey-Hayes Air Disc Brake systems and a line of Air/Hydraulic Brakes to the heavy and medium-duty vehicle markets for over the past 15 years. As of March 1st of 2001, these responsibilities will now be assigned to Fabco Automotive, another business unit of TTI, Inc. located in Emeryville, California. In his announcement Sunderland said, "These products and responsibilities were shifted to Fabco as part of a strategic re-alignment of manufacturing and marketing responsibilities aimed at improving production efficiencies and customer service. By the very nature of our core products, which includes standard and custom engineered steer drive axles and transfer cases, Fabco has manufacturing processes and systems in place that are much better suited to the short run and quick response time required by these products." In this transition, Gunite will process and fill orders through the end of February 2001; as of March 1st, 2001 all orders will be processed through Fabco. After March 1st, all inquiries regarding these products should be directed to the local Fabco distributor or to Fabco Automotive AT 800-967-8838.
