Fabco Automotive Opens New Facility
In Livermore California
Livermore, CA: Fabco Automotive Corporation recently opened
a new facility in Livermore, California
and moved its entire operation from its old facility in Emeryville, California.
In an announcement at the opening of the new facility Al Sunderland,
President of Fabco commented “Our decision to leave our previous
facility in Emeryville after 85 years was driven by the changes that have
taken place in our product line and the need to optimize certain
manufacturing operations. Our original facility was designed primarily for
truck manufacturing and modification. And, while it functioned well in that
capacity, it did not lend itself to the adaptations required to manufacture
our diverse and growing line of products which includes, specialty vehicles,
and specialty drive train components. Our decision to move to our new
facility has allowed us to incorporate structured manufacturing areas
dedicated to specific operations and products. In turn, our efficiencies have
increased allowing us to meet the growing demand for our products from
customers throughout North America.”
For over 80 years, Fabco has played a significant role in the evolution of
All Wheel Drive (AWD) vehicles. Today, Fabco offers its customers a wide
variety of products in addition to the wide array of specially modified AWD
trucks it produces each year. These products include liquid transfer pumps,
diesel marine engines, fire trucks, agricultural machines, flexible drive
couplings and a wide range of transfer cases and steerable drive axles.
